Lack of awareness of product features, cheap varieties and a product that invokes little interest makes creating a brand in this industry very challenging. Our initial campaign regarding superior quality had not gained the expected traction. Afterall, “a garbage bag is no more than just that, so why should I buy a particular brand” was the common thought process that ruled the industry.
It is commonly said in hindi “Ghee seedhi ungli se na nikle, to ungli tedi karni padti hai” Functional lines were never going to shake user apathy and the user had to be lured with attention-grabbing messages. Using a string of saucy one-liners, and weaving this with product benefits, we could get through to the end user and get the required attention to promote the brand.
